Currency and credit cards
The official currency is the Argentinian peso, however many shops accept the USA dollar without any difficulty. Further more, in every commercial centre, shopping-centres, stores, restaurants, cinemas, theatres, credit cards such as American Express, Visa, Diners and Mastercard are accepted.
We advise you to do the money exchanging in banks and official exchange money agencies, which are open from Monday to Friday and from 10 am to 3:00 pm. The exchange offices working in shopping centres, have longer timetables, working also on Saturdays and Sundays.
Taxes back
If you wish you had the 21% of AVT given back (tax equivalent), choose commercial locals linked to the system. Identify them with the badge on their windows. In purchases more expensive than $70, ask for the return cheque, together with the purchase receipt which will be presented in the Airport exit so that the return money may be effected.
Means of transport
The main airlines arrive at Argentinian Republic through the "Ministro Pistarini" International Airport, situated at 35 Km from Buenos Aires City. Some flights coming from the bordering countries and the trading one arrive at "Jorge Newbery airfield", which is situated in the city, on the River Plate margins.
We recommend you to move from Ezeiza airport to the rented apartment on buses, radio taxis or remise cars, contracted in the building itself for security reasons.
If you also want, Baires Rental Aparts may contact you with high qualified companies engaged to that kind of jobs, to take you from the airport to the apartment where you will be lodged. To get this, inquire the available information in our site, in the Additional Services Section.
